About CBIO

CBIO emerged out of the field work of the Andean Rural Health Project in Bolivia which Duke University sponsored from 1981 to 1984. This project later became Andean Rural Health Care, then Curamericas Global with work spreading to Guatemala, and now Impact Global Health Alliance (IGHA), with work in Bolivia, Guatemala, Liberia, Kenya, and Haiti. Over the past four decades, IGHA along with other organizations have had experience with this pioneering approach to working with communities to help them improve their health using CBIO principles. This website will provide individuals, communities, organizations, and governments with information and tools to adapt the implementation of CBIO principles. CBIO principles are applicable to any sized population anywhere in the world.
